The Findings

Photo Series | 2015 - 2016

“What things were interred and sacrificed amid magic incantations, what horrible cabinet of curiosities lies there below, where the deepest shafts are reserved for what is most common place?”

One-Way Street by Walter Benjamin, 1928

This was one of the first series that I attempted and was inspired by my introduction into art history.  The concept for the series was formulated around the notion of the “death of objects” and the question of how objects might die. By covering them, they for sure lose their functionality, much like the covered up furniture at the end of summer in a vacation house.
